Old Stuff #1

OK, so this was a song that I wrote at 1 in the morning a few years ago, after I woke up with the lyrics of the chorus running through my head over and over. It's funny, I hate, absolutely loathe girl-bands, but this is most definitely a girl-band song.
Here's the song, Just Me.

JUST ME

I've gotten lost in the shuffle,
Can't see through the sea of models:
Beautiful girls
From the magazines and movies,
Showing me what's groovy.
But that's not me.

I'll do, what I gotta do,
When all it is, is what I oughta do.
I've got an attitude,
That makes me what I am:
Just me.

There's a dream girl, a gorgeous babe
Who dresses in the tools of her trade.
Out there,
The world has its ideals
But I know this is how I feel:
It's just not me.

I'll do, what I gotta do,
When all it is, is what I oughta do.
I've got an attitude,
That makes me what I am:
Just me.

What's a girl to do but try,
When underneath the world's judging eye,
To be what
Is deemed normal, cool
Even if it means being cold and cruel.
But that's not me.

I'll do, what I gotta do,
When all it is, is what I oughta do.
I've got an attitude,
That makes me what I am:
Just me.

So I'm a rebel against the crowd
I'm different, yeah, and I say it loud
Who cares
About being like the rich and pretty?
I've changed, and now I'm ready
To be just plain me.

I'll do, what I gotta do,
When all it is, is what I oughta do.
I've got an attitude,
That makes me what I am:
Just me.
It makes me what I am:
Just…plain…me.
