Dad's Trip to Publix Today

A while back, Dad offered to go shopping for me at Publix on his way home from work in the evenings. Generally, I prepare a little baggie of coupons and shopping list, and hand that over to him the prior evening. Most of the time, he has no problem at the register and comes home with this little grin on his face - along with several items that were decidedly not on my list. As far as Mom and I can tell, he just hates to leave Publix without handing over seven or eight dollars more than I had planned on; usually, the extras include iced tea and a Cuban sandwich, even if he is on his way home to dinner.

The list I gave him last night was as follows:

(4) Solo Ultra Color Cups and Plates $3.29 BOGO
(2) Tena Serenity Ultra Thin pads $5.19 each
(2) Sundown Natural's Vitamins, any $2.99-4.50 each
(1) Benadryl Itch Cream $4.19 each
(2) any items desired, to cover number of coupons

The vitamins purchased were Zinc ($4.29) and Potassium ($3.89), which both fell within the price restrictions I had written. Dad purchased a 3-pack of soap ($2.99) and a gallon of tea ($2.59) to cover the number of coupons, and then another gallon of tea ($2.59) and a Cuban sandwich ($4.49).

Total before coupons equaled $41.99

The coupons I gave him:

(2) $1/2 Solo items manufacturer's coupons
(2) $2.50/1 Tena Ultra Thin manufacturer's coupons
(1) BOGO (buy one, get one free) Tena Serenity Publix's coupon
(2) $1/1 Sundown Naturals Vitamins manufacturer's coupons
(1) $6/2 Sundown Naturals Vitamins Publix's coupon
(1) $2/1 Benadryl topical item manufacturer's coupon
(1) $2/1 Benadryl topical item Publix's coupon
(1) $5 off $25 purchase Save-a-Lot coupon

Total after coupons equaled $14.58

All the deals made with Publix coupons can be done for the next several weeks with coupons out of the Green Advantage Buy flyer; the Solo BOGO deal ends tomorrow.
