Here's another old song I wrote a couple years ago. Country is also a music genre that I generally dislike, but the rhyming, singing monster inside my head doesn't always cooperate...
I'm sure some of you will recognize the truck that is mentioned here.
Sittin' in an old pickup truck
With an older pink door against a red paint job
Eatin' cherry garcia ice cream
And listenin' to blues
It's a real romantic moment
Despite how silly it seems
A warm spring breeze gives an air of peace
It's like livin' a bad country song
I'm sittin' out here to get out of a funk
Skippin' class to enjoy life
And eatin' tons of junk
Bouncin' to the beat and singin' along
Sittin' in an old pickup truck
With an older pink door against a red paint job
Eatin' cherry garcia ice cream
And listenin' to blues:
It's like livin' a bad country song.

That truck is now officially gone. We donated it to one of the high schools in the area; they just picked it up today.
